In memory of a beautiful man

A beautiful man who started every greeting with "hello darling", touched so many lives and warmed hearts and minds. I've many memories of him but the one that says it all was at the launch when I walked in not knowing a soul, he bounded over in his enthusiastic almost labradorable way and said "hello darling, now let me get you a glass and I'll introduce you". That was him to the core. Kind, caring, supportive, intuitive, nurturing, mentor, special, loved.

"Hello darling". Two words that were spoken on the phone and in person. Without fail.

Those two words will be spoken the world over, they've not stopped being words. But for now they won't sound the same.
