Wales Week/Worldwide, a celebration of Wales around the world for a week either side of St David’s Day, has been going for 4 years. In 2020 Berkshire joined and made a huge amount of noise. We had a pop up at John Lewis Reading, Crime Cymru author visits, pubs were doing Welsh menus, cafes and delis were stocking Welsh produce, schools got involved and the Welsh Diaspora got together in Berkshire. Within 6 weeks we had 30+ celebrations in the diary so this year was going to be more of the same and then some!
Well, things are understandably different this year so we are going to make lots of Welsh noise online with the Wales Week / Berkshire Cymru Collective Virtual Market on Facebook.
On16th February 2021 a taster of those taking part will be published and from 20th February 2021 the Wales Week / Berkshire Facebook page will be abuzz with links to websites and spotlights on businesses, authors, musicians, accommodation, attractions and the Welsh way of life.
On the evening of Saturday 20th February we will be hosting a Virtual Wine Tasting with White Castle Vineyard whose red wine Regent you might have seen on Alan Titchmarsh's Love Your Weekend programme on ITV.
Together we will make some lovely Welsh noise and raise awareness of all that’s Welsh and wonderful.
